Procurement has a key role in its view across the business and different functions. Do the necessary research early and thoroughly, existing resources (internally and externally) can be harnessed to great effect. 2. Get buy-in from the Senior Executive Team at the earliest opportunity. Show those who need to be convinced what exactly is involved and what the bottom-line savings will be. Make clear the link with business goals such as customer satisfaction, revenue, brand values etc. Small, real examples work well. Maintain momentum through good communication. 3. Know who to speak with in your supply base - the account manager may not always know who this is. Sometimes your technical people and their technical people need to meet. 4.
