Business in the Community Ireland make presentation to Oireachtas Joint Committee on Climate Change and Energy Security

April 29th: Business in the Community Ireland's CEO, Tina Roche and Elise McCarthy, CSR Executive today made a presentation to the Joint Committee on Climate Change and Energy Security. This cross party committee, chaired by Sean Barrett, explores issues such as medium and long-term climate change targets and measures needed to meet those targets.

Today's presentation by Business in the Community Ireland (BITCI) outlined the work to date on efforts aimed at aligning government and business in order to tackle climate change. An overview of BITCI's CEO forum last year as well as last month's issuing of the report entitled ‘Green Ireland-The Business of Climate Change' were presented to the committee as well as a number of recommendations on how to further develop relationships in order to tackle this increasingly urgent issue.
