The Community Foundation for Ireland is a donor services and grant-making organisation. The Foundation - a registered charity - was established in 2000 and has grown with the support of individuals, families, businesses, and other institutions. The Foundation helps people to engage in more effective philanthropic activity by getting funds to the most deserving and effective causes. President Mary McAleese is the Patron, and the Board is comprised of distinguished representatives from the public, private and community and voluntary sectors. To date, with the support of donors, The Community Foundation has made grants of over €4million to hundreds of organisations throughout Ireland.

The Foundation is also a very effective mechanism to channel charity payroll deductions as it can offer a tax efficient option and a simple grant making process. The ability to research local issues for companies through our grant applicants is a major benefit for members of BITCI.
