The Taoiseach, Mr Bertie Ahern T.D, announced the membership of the Taskforce on Active Citizenship in April 2006. The Taskforce comprises 20 members and is chaired by Ms Mary Davis, CEO Special Olympics Ireland. The membership of the Taskforce represent a broad spectrum of interests and organisations across Ireland including young people, senior citizens, the arts, Irish language, education and public and private sectors.
Industry volunteers from BITCI members Microsoft and O2 to visit over 10,000 children across Ireland to promote Safer Internet Day and encourage children and teachers to ‘Discover the digital world together…. safely!’
