Blue Gold: Doing Business by Managing Water
A Business in the Community Ireland expert seminar for member companies Wednesday, May 20th - Kindly hosted by IBM Ireland The aim of this seminar is to bring together leading companies as well as government and other stakeholder to share their knowledge, leadership and best practice insights in order to assist companies meet the challenges and opportunities associated with sustainable water management. Water should and can be managed with the same rigor and attention assigned to other indicators of business success and environmental protection and the goal of this multi-stakeholder dialogue is to inspire and challenge companies to take action. The objective is to have expert presentations by different stakeholders: • To increase learning and understanding of the relevance of water for business, • To showcase best practice examples and practical tools for how other companies have successfully integrated water stewardship into their operations and their rationale for including water into their environmental management systems and business operations; • To highlight the regulatory context of water and increase understanding of what other stakeholders such as government are doing with regard to water and how their work impacts business; • To create an open dialogue between different stakeholders and business on the issue of water and explore possibilities for collaboration/partnerships; • Provide an opportunity for networking with leading experts and peers. Speakers include IBM, Glanbia, Coca Cola GB, World Wildlife Fund Northern Ireland and the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government.
